Early treatment of patients with severe and moderate TBI in Austria

Early treatment of patients with severe and moderate TBI in Austria (funded by the Austrian Ministry of Health and the occupational insurance company AUVA) – 2009 – 2013

The main goal of the project is to map the prehospital and early hospital phase of brain trauma treatment, look at the differences in the treatment and patient outcomes and develop clinical guidelines for the improvement of the TBI management outcomes. The project is implemented in 16 participating Austrian hospitals. In the second half of the project the developed guideline will be implemented in the participating hospitals and by collecting and analyzing data on patient treatment the guideline compliance and its impact on patients’ outcomes will be measured.
